Janna is the founder of JannasStudio. She started nearly 12 years ago and has steadily been growing the business to encompass the TRANSGENDERED and related communities ever since.
Her past accolades include: 1, Authoring 3 books on self-improvement, one of which is “Leadership Begins With a Smile”. The books focus on teaching visual techniques and positive attitude to obtain personal goals and present oneself in the most advantageous way possible. 2, Working with the hearing impaired, she completed sign language Interpreter Training courses at Waubonsee College. Eventually, she began teaching sign language and working as an interpreter for the hearing impaired thus making her one of a only few people able to provide transgendered services to the hearing impaired community; 3, She has taught at many schools in the Chicago area, including a finishing and modeling school; 4, Janna started her own psychology practice, but after 10 years she wanted to apply her people skills in a different way.
Janna started JannasPlace, a makeup studio where she could apply both her love of working directly with people and her love of consulting on the use of cosmetics. In her studio, she could teach makeup application and provide private makeup services to her clients.
Janna became aware of the transgendered (TG) community through a good friend and realized there was a need to provide a safe place for the TG community as well as a market to apply her makeover skills. She slowly expanded by providing other services and products over the years to the TG community. Janna has once again expanded her services by using her knowledge of psychology, modeling and finishing schools. What she produced is a comprehensive program that gives TGs a choice of lessons covering everything from acting and dressing as a woman to behaving as a women. Few studios in the United States offer this level of service. Janna's Program lessons include Makeup Lessons, How to Dress Convincingly Like a Woman, Presenting Yourself As A Woman, Feeling Like A Woman, Self-Confidence, and of course Makeovers. All sessions are private and are therefore by appointment only. Long ago Janna created a motto for her company and it still rings true today, “I believe in helping others to create a self that makes them look outstanding in a crowd, without standing out.” Janna transforms you into a confident feminine self, while at the same time, not drawing undue attention to yourself.
